Each year the Merit Commissioner publishes overall findings of the merit performance audit conducted over the past fiscal year (April 1st to March 31st). The report includes observations on the status of merit-based hiring, case studies, and any recommendations for improvements. This report is usually presented to the Legislative Assembly and published in November.
Prior to 2013/14, these reports were based on appointments selected for audit from the fiscal instead of the calendar year.
Prior to 2012, merit performance audit findings were included as part of the Merit Commissioner’s Annual Report.
